Wow, an interview already, and walking distance! That's pretty good! I used to work with kids too!

Wheee guess what? I got the job on the spot right after the interview! He said he just wanted 3 references and then I can come in again for the paperwork! Oh, and I guess I do need to get CPR and first aid certified, so I better do that this week. But yay it's so nice to get an offer!

Sanssouci, what age of kids did you work with and what did you do? I'm never sure what age group I like working with best, but this time I'll be doing elementary school again!

I did some babysitting as a teen (4 months to 2.5 years old). I worked as a job coach for teens with developmental disabilities. I was a teacher assistant in the K through grade 2 room in a special school for kids with behavioral and emotional issues. I worked as a K-9 tutor and then as a high school tutor. And I was a sub at a daycare. So everything from babies to high school! Well, I tutored college math too, but they're not really kids anymore at that point!

Woah that's a lot of experience with kids! Remind me again what you do these days (sorry I have horrendous memory...sometimes I'm talking to someone and repeat something I said 10 minutes after I say it...)?

When people ask me what I do now, I usually say, "I'm a stay at home...." then trail off awkwardly. I quit working to move in with my partner because he lived in the middle of nowhere. Then we moved back out of the middle of nowhere. But then we started trying to get pregnant, so I didn't go back to work. Then we failed to get pregnant, but his mother moved in with us, so I didn't go back to work. And now I've been out of work for 11 years and have no references and have like 30 pets that are a full-time job, so I just clean all day.

I'm the same way. People probably think I'm really selfish or something because I always talk about myself. But it's because my memory is so bad that I never remember what anyone says.... So I can't be like, "Oh, hey, how did your mom's surgery go last week?" or anything like that, you know? I feel bad, but I just don't remember anything...

Man taking care of pets really is a full-time job, and you have so many! My friend is always telling me I should get a pet, but I just don't know if I could make the commitment. Growing up, we only had a cat for brief period of time, but my mom never let us play with it since she was scared it'd hurt us or something. So my grandmother took care of him and I just never really learned what to do since my mom wouldn't let him in the house either, so he lived in the garage mainly and went outside through his catflap whenever he wanted to.

Man on another note, I've messed up my sleeping schedule ahhhh. I meant to take a 10 min nap at 6 or 7pm and ended up waking up at 9:30 pm instead...so now I don't know if I should try to do work now or just go back to bed haha. Probably the latter since I'm still tired...

I'd say hamsters are the easiest pets that I have. Give them food, give them water, clean the cage every so often, done!

I HATE when I mess up my sleep schedule. I wasn't easy for me to get on a schedule, so I don't like to mess it up!

My old roommate had a hamster! We weren't supposed to have pets at my old apartment, but the manager said it was fine since it's just a hamster haha. In the end he had to be put down though because he got some sort of tumor. :( I think fish might be even easier though hehe.

I'm going to try to sleep early today for once because I'm so tired ahhh. Tomorrow I will wake up early for sure! :D

I've not been very active in awhile and this has gotten busy. I have been job hunting.
I'm just going to drop little tidbits and see if I can get mostly caught up.
Yes, that pretty much accurately describes Crohn's. I've been planning on making a recipe/help thread about it on here, but I need to gather my recipes in one place and make some more.

I'm also a very empathetic person. I get empathy pains actually if I see someone get hurt whether they're a real person or not. This is going to sound a bit odd, but I relate to a lot villains in books. Maybe I should elaborate... the villains I relate to are ones who have had horrible things happen to them that had turned them bad. Like in one book I own the main villain had abusive parents and he was was also bullied way too much by his classmates. Now if it's a villain that is just a down right awful person just because they are an awful person, then I have no sympathy for them.

I used to work in childcare as a daycare worker. I did the late shift with a few others. There always had to be at least two workers in with the kids at all times. Most the kids that were coming in that late were from trouble families and most of the moms were under protection because they were getting out of abusive relationships. A lot of the kids were not well behaved and caused quite a bit of trouble, but it was hard to be mad because of the horrible home lives they were coming from.

And I don't really have any comments on the current subject.

Yes, fish are pretty easy too! Well, some of them. Some people have super fancy high maintenance ones. But I have regular nonfussy ones!

The special school that I worked at was mostly foster kids. So most had been abused or neglected. I found them easier to work with than the adults though. Some people there were so nice but some were so mean. It was weird. It was like everyone was one extreme or the other.

I often wonder about villains in real life and in stories. Like, if you took Voldemort or Hitler, for example, and you raised them better, what would they have been like?
