I look for job postings and apply to them mostly, or I contact website owners to see if they need new writers. But I don't need new clients very often. Most of them I've had for over 6 months and some for nearly 2 years. I can only bring in a new client when I lose one of the others because I'm too busy to do more.

Most of them are fairly niche. Like I have a UK-based site where you have to verify that you attended a UK university and are a current student or graduate. That's how I manage to pick up really steady clients without much trouble, because there's less competition on sites like that. Also by having a strong portfolio and being reliable/working hard, obviously.
