I am sure there are more apps like that which are freeware!
But that is actually a great idea, I think I might try that as well, starting tomorrow!

i've actually looked them up and the freeware apps are mostly timers, or things that block you from using other apps/websites. this is bad because they're kind of controlling the things you have on your device so it's not /safe/ per se. whereas the forest app has the plant die if you leave the app, it doesn't overwrite other apps in any way, and if you really need to use another app all of a sudden you can... i'm still looking, i hope i find something.

I've never even heard of the forest app. But it does sound interesting, if not horribly frustrating.

I actually saw something like this before.. I found one just now, it's called Plantie. I think I will try this one.

Plantie does look interesting. And adorable.

But I know myself, the app itself would be my biggest distraction. :}

i wish i didn't need it either but it's difficult to stay motivated when you're so stressed you just want to avoid everything lol

For me it's not only my phone which is distracting me, but it's mostly my friends and also kind of my thoughts about my life xD But that's one distracting factor less at least :)

yeah, for me too, a lot of distractions are on my computer since most of the work i do is on my computer

so i tried it, and it doesn't kill your plant when you leave the app. it's different from forest in this way. so it miiight not be as good as making someone focus who kills time on many apps on my phone, but i think it does make me concentrate more regardless? not entirely sure.

I tried it, too and it did not work well for me. It said I interrupted my task even though I did not close the app. Three times. I was annoyed xD
