i feel you. i want to take up crocheting but i'm reluctant to spend money on the supplies.

Nah, this isn't your usual 'gotta watch the moneys' thing, I'm talking about a big time expensive country here. Like, 5 euros for a bag of crisps expensive.

Yikes. I knew the place was more expensive than average but that's just excessive.

I don't always look down on spending some extra money when i am on holiday but i do like to have some semblance of a budget. :}

I warned you, Merry xD A friend has been there in November I think (when the rockets were launched anyhow) and he also said it's expensive. His girlfriend payed the trip though so he had not to worry.

Same here. I had a partner that always tried to make me pay more than he did when we were on trips (most of those were his ideas even), yet when I broke up with him he was surprised.

A partnership should be about equality. Now if one of the people in it makes remarkable more money than the other I can understand them paying a bit more, but still. No leeching. :}
