Sometimes I forget I need to read the subtitles. I just sit there like wth for a while. Then I have to rewind a few minutes lol. I did that the other day cuz I finally got a chance to watch some anime for the first time in months. smh.

Somehow I manage to keep up with subtitles. Prolly cuz I'm used to reading quickly?

I actually love subtitles, even if something is in English. I tend to process things faster when I read then vs hearing them.

i don't mind subtitles. but sitting for 45 to an hour of it is too much for my fidgety self. xD;;

I love watching anime (sub always), but I don't have much time to watch anything because if I'm tired, like after work during the week, then I don't wanna read subtitles, I wanna turn off my brain... So I can't be tired when watching anime, lol, so I don't watch it other than during the weekend. Doesn't matter how long the eps are though, I just can't be sleepy. xD

And I often watch movies in English with subtitles because sometimes my hearing is just no good and I'm not sure what was said, or the music/ambient effects are much much louder than the voices, and then I have to lower the sound to not kill my hearing and can't hear what's being said. :/

i prefer subtitles no matter what language i'm watching cause i can't always follow what's being said. i'm more of a reader than a watcher anyway, so it has made watching stuff easier for me, not harder.

Yeah the ambient noise problem, if what I read is correct, is due to the people making the sounds expecting the home watcher to have a 7 speaker surround sound system and not Just The TV Itself

I actually was telling my mom how I knit and watch subtitled shows last night. She doesn't know how I can do both at the same time lol.

I hate movies that need like surround sound because you have to turn it up to hear (I usually don't have subtitles if it's in English tbh, unless the person I am listening/watching doesn't speak all that good of the language because it isn't their first language). But then you get the super loud booming of the bass from the music, action, etc. So it's like a constant war with the volume.

But I prefer the original language audio for whatever I'm watching so I just do subtitles.

I can agree with the surround sound issues. I'm super sensitive to noise so if i'm watching a show alone that has loud effects, I turn down the volume and put on subtitles so I can still know what's going on.

My volume is super low until I'm watching something and they talk so soft. Then I'll forget I have the volume up and my ears get blasted off on the next thing I go to watch.

I hate when I'm in the car and the person driving just cranks up the volume. I decided I rather not have my ears/head hurt so I'll turn the volume down without asking now. Plus it makes it hard to hear if they try to talk to you. like turn your volume down?
