Our grocery stores have some regulations though, you cannot buy that many products of one kind. I think only one package of toilet paper is allowed for example. I friend of mine has been shopping a few days ago and she said a customer wanted to buy like a dozen packs of flour, but was not allowed to and almost got into a fight with the cashier over it.

They are indeed starting to put limits to the amount people can buy in most shops. At least there were I went.

Plus I was finally able to buy a package of paracetamol.
People had panic bought them like crazy last week, and the news hadn't said anything about it so it was a nasty shock when I went out to get some.
I have migraines! I Bloody actually need them!!
And some idiots bought like 20!! boxes, clearing the shelves. Because apparently some facebook post claimed that if you take 1 every some hours you would be immune to get covid-19. Which is a lie.

Now they have it restocked and put behind the counters. Plus there is a max of 2 boxes per person.

But none of that pissed me off as much as reading in the newspaper how hospitals had to stop visitors completely not because of the risk of infection but because over the course of a week people had stolen for over €100k of medical supply like face masks, gloves, and desinfect!!!
Out of the freaking hospital!!! From the people literally risking their own lives keeping this illness manageable.

On a lighter note we at least are heaving some nice weather. The local park had a line 200meters long for all the people that think you can't get sick over the weekend. :}

My fiance has bought me some face masks, it isn't because of corona but because my immune system is so bad I'm near immunocompromised. The masks are for my health in general. Here things like paracetamol and ibuprofen are always maxed at 3 and if you get 3 of 1 you can't get 3 of the other.

The local hospital have shut down for everything other than emergencies now. It's sucky that someone has stolen equipment from a hospital. Where my roommate works they've basically got their yeast under lock and key because its pretty much like gold at the moment, everyone needs it but no one has it.

Yes, people are so selfish during these tough times, they forget that there are people who are really in need of medicine or other supplies.

The problem is that people are not well informed. As you said, they even believe such stupid things as with paracetamol.

Indeed, yiest is the currency now xD And toilet paper.

Well places like warburtons and hovis don't have yeast and can't keep up with demand so it has fell on the bakery that my roommate works in. By Thursday last week if the demand keeps up the way it has they had enough flour to last until Tuesday this week, which isn't a problem given they would be getting a new supply in on Monday but they had enough live yeast to do them until Friday. They did start cultivating their own on Thursday but it takes three days to mature meaning it wouldn't be ready until today. They had to changed to dry yeast mix for some of Friday's and all of yesterday's orders.

Yesterday was my roommates only day off and he had at least two dozen messages placing orders, people cancelling orders due to cafes and coffee shops only permitted to do take out orders at current and others asking for more. One of the customers had the gall to ask "Why aren't you open for taking orders today." My roommate was taken aback at that as you can imagine hearing the voice message and pretty much was a case of "Excuse me for for wanting a day off after having to do the same work as I do on a Friday every day this week and do double that on Friday so people can get their bread orders."

Did you guys know I haven't heard anyone here talk about yeast at all. Didn't even know that was a thing in this all. Here it's all dried pasta's that's the biggest crave. :}

Bread is the big thing here and you need yeast for that.

Which just prove that people that panic grasp at straws. Hope you all are still well. :}

For us it's mostly toilet paper, pasta and canned food. But yiest is also rare. But what do I know, I haven't been out for 1 week xD But I am running out of vegetables and fruits, so I gotta go shopping on Wednesday.

My fiance's state goes into a three week stay inside lockdown at midnight his time. I went to the store today, there was no pasta or canned food.
