We have to keep the front door locked, especially in winter, cuz otherwise the one cat will open it on us. Dad made a screen door for that door and it has a wide board the cats can stand on and look in through the door's window and Jazz one day realized that pushing down on the handle and pushing forward, using her weight, opens the door, but she can't ever be bothered to shut it
The back door has a more traditional screen/storm door so we don't have to worry about that one

I've had screen doors that locked with a key. I don't think you can install a lock though. I'm not really sure about the whole thing.

There are some hilarious videos of cats opening doors. They are very determined little creatures. Quite stubborn also.

Husband says when I get a job/income coming in we can get another cat. I look forward to it!

I'd love to have a kitten, but then I think of the additional vet bills and decide against it. But I'd still love to have a kitten!

Yes, that's why I need the income first. That way we can take care of the baby.

i keep hoping that our old kitty will come home but I doubt it will happen.

My cat loves to open our back door to sneak into the backyard, because of that we have to have it locked at all times. :}
