I also feel sorry because Firn and Starkad have put so much love and effort into this site..

True, their effort is felt in everything. They deserve a thriving site, I just do not know how that is going to happen.
Maybe if we had gotten that battle game for our knuffel they would feel more than just collectibles that get you currency.
Don't get me wrong, I love all of my knuffel. But any new collector that would join would feel discouraged by how many gens they already missed out on. (I know as I have them all). :}

I was SO looking forward to the battle game
But yes, the knuffel just feel like accessoires. Of course, you can dig with them, but I find digging exhausting so I don't do that anymore.

Digging takes up too much time! I have too many knuffel to dig with them all, I did that once and it simply took me all day.
The battle game would have been a nice alternative. :}

I started to dig by elements, so that I don't have to take of all my knuffel, but even that took me too long for my taste.

When ever I feel like digging I do it by gen, starting with gen 1 and then just see when I get bored with it. That is usually around gen 5-7.
Basically it means I rarely do anything with later gens. And the last few gens I haven't even touched at all since getting them. :}

Also a nice way to do it :)
