cravings are difficult for me to control, too. especially when i'm feeling sad/down and want something that will make me feel better or comforted instantly.
however, when something is really dangerous for my health i don't think i'll still eat it. like it's different if i'm trying to cut down on sugar in order to prevent health problems versus already having health problems that make sugar intake dangerous. yknow?

Yeah but my dad’s temperament is just like that. 8u like we tell him not to do something but he’ll still do it. 8u just like with this sugar/ice cream/snacking thing, when he already had health problems. 8u

Yeah, that's true. If it's already a health problem, what are you waiting to stop?
I also tell that to my parents, about cholesterol.
They have such high levels that they need to take this pill to keep it under control, but they are not willing to do any lifestyle changes. They take their medicine, that's true, but if they took a bit more care of themselvest they probably would not need it at all :/

Yes, that! My dad keeps up with this unhealthy lifestyle choices because he has his fallback meds. As of the meds are some kind of miracle medicine that will magically cure him even if he doesn’t change his habits. 8u

Also medicines are not completely harmless!
I mean, if you are unhealthy you take your meds because it's better than not taking them. But they always have side effects, you can't forget that. They are drugs after all.
But if you could fix your health issues any other way, it's likely to be better for your body than meds!
I'm in that boat myself.
I have my pills for my thyroids, I'll have to take them for the rest of my life, but I'm doing my best trying to be healthy otherwise so I can keep as low a dose as I can!

Exactly. So I don’t understand why my dad continues to do the things he does. Like if he were to only change the way he does some things, he can live a healthier lifestyle. Like it’s for his own good and yet….8u
