I think most of the cheese I use is coconut oil based, but it'll never be the same

apparently nutritional yeast can help with the cheesy taste but it's expensive, at least where i am.
i sprinkle breadcrumbs on pasta and that actually gives it a cheesy vibe.
also, cauliflower sauce for alfredo sauce, thickened with some vegan milk.

I've never thought about sprinkling breadcrumbs over pasta. Should try that next time I make a pasta dish. :}

Got an email again that it's been 3 months, so it's not been ages. But yeah, it's been a while.
I love cheese, not a fan of the blue mouldy stuff, but I like it a lot in cooking. All sorts of dairy. Wouldn't even know how to substitute most, allergies suck. :-<

I try to log in every day (and collect my Troth Tokens, but that last part I might forget sometimes) so I've not had that email in a very long time. :}
Allergies are bad. Just today I talked with a friend about them.
At least I know what I am allergic to. :}

That is a good thing that you know what to avoid. :)
I dunno, I just tend to forget again, get involved in something else and go with that all the time. I learnt to knit in January and finished one sweater. And a hat, but I'm not entirely happy with that one... :> So, might frog it again. Ooh, and a scarf, that was my first. But now suddenly spring arrived and I don't feel the warm wool anymore, lol. I need something else again. Kofk is ok again for a few days.

For me it's been ages. At least, that's what it feels like. But after the past year my feeling for time's gone haywire, so it could've been three weeks for all I know. xD
Luckily substitutions have gotten way more widely available here lately, it's become so much easier to eat plant based without missing out on too much! I feel like I only have to give up a little bit of joy in food in return for an animal life. I imagine Eastern European supermarkets to still be somewhat more traditional, though...
KofK is still in my routine, but I basically just open the site and close it again, sadly. I wish I had collected my troth tokens though, I could only buy two of the butterflies, but I honestly need all of them...
As for the bread crumbs on oven bakes: that's one of the few kitchen tricks I learned from my mom. She sprinkled it
over the cheese though, so it's no substitute for me x'D
But the coconut cheese works well enough when melted. It's just flavourless when you eat it raw.

Merry, let me know which of the butterflies you need. I've got tokens to spare.
