Thanks for your concern <3

But to be honest I'm none too happy... they said it went well and the operation went smooth, but now, 6 days later, I'm still on pain meds full time and I can only eat fluid stuff. I hate eating soup without bread and I've never been keen on chocolate pudding, so I'd kill for some pizza or a hot dog or whatever... Anyway I lost one of my stitches yesterday and now there's just this big gaping hole in my jaw. It feels 'floppier' than the other side, but it's not bleeding and it doesn't seem infected or anything. So I think I just need to be patient. Nevertheless, I'm worried... I was supposed to go back to work last monday, then I asked for four more days, but the pain just doesn't seem to go down. Now I'm worried I won't make friday either. Today and tomorrow were supposed to be my days off, so I do have other appointments to attend to, let's see how that goes...

I'm mostly worried because this shouldn't be such a big deal. It seems so much easier for other people. Am I just being a drama queen about this, am I unlucky or is it a bit of both? I guess it's the latter because I'm such a scaredy cat in this case, usually I'm one to tough things out. But this just scares me to the bone - holes and all :mccry:

If you're concerned, call them. Pain is super personal, nothing to do with a scaredy cat or not. If your worried, let them check if everything is healing as is should. Even for your piece of mind, it's worth it.

I'm no specialist, I got all 4 of those back molars removed with the advice to try to clean and brush it well and got a super soft-past surgery brush for it. I did eat everything immediately, except for milk the first day or so, 'cause the enzyms stop the wound from healing. But I don't know your case, so don't want to give bad advice either, but do call.

With my last tooth pain I also used pain meds for 2-3 weeks in a row, even though it's super unDutch to use them, use them. Don't be in pain, not worth it. <3

Wish you all the best, hope it'll get better soon. :qh: :qh:

I remember having my wisdom teeth removed (And yes mine were surgical in a hospital because they were growing inwards) and I ended up being only able to digest fluid food for almost 3 weeks. I lived on Danoontjes, yogurts, pudding, and soup.
And I took painmeds those whole 3 weeks.

There's no shame in taking time to heal. If your body needs it, take it. :}

No one is talking about shame, I just miss eating pizza. But I had a burrito yesterday and that's close enough. :')
This is the first time I woke up and didn't immediately go for the painkillers. It seems that somehow yesterday night my body finally remembered how to heal; before that the pain didn't seem to go down at all, and yesterday morning I suddenly felt ready to eat toast. Only thing is that the leftovers that get stuck in the wounds can provide a (w)hole new meal for later, but hey, worth it xD

For me they didn't mention the milk, in fact all the things they suggested I would eat actually were dairy (yoghurt, vla, even yakult to protect my stomach). Also did not worry for a moment to take those meds xD
They didn't say anything about the brush either. Usually I brush electric but I was terrified to brush at all, so I searched my bathroom cabinet and found an old hotel brush I took from somewhere in China which was very flimsy, but actually quite soft. Seemed to do the trick just fine :')

I'm so glad I'm almost out of this so I can forget it ever happened. Pizza, anyone? :mclaugh:

Glad you're feeling better! :D We went for a walk today (an old Roman way apparently) and ended up on a (very windy) terrace on a hill. Love the spot, wind was quite a lot. Lol, food was great though, so we skipped pizza this weekend. Just used up left-over bread for wentelteefjes & croque monsieurs (sp?) tosti's, whatever.

Buuut, don't want to ruin the vibe, I'd love to go eat pizza's with you. ;-D

Hmmm, sounds great. Sorry about the wind though. That can ruin quite a lot :(

Okay so I can eat solids again, but..... turns out I can't taste because of the mouth was I'm using xD
Which explains why all the soup I tried tasted watery and literally everything I ate since saturday morning has been a disappointment. Boo. Worst thing is it seems to be only umami flavours since I can taste sweet - but it's umami I love and really missed the last week :mccry:

Say, is that a promise? How's the pizza in Romania? :mcsmirk:

3 weeks ago it was good, but only tried one in Arad with friends, I live in Hungary though. ;-D

We have one local bar in our town who usually bakes pizza during the weekends, I really like that one. There's another option one town away from us who take it home. Both ok. They really like (spicy) salami here, so that's a good thing I think, when they use real cheese, love it. For a few years now I've not stocked up on deep fried pizza's anymore, 'cause the fresh baked one's are worth the wait. ;-) Other days I'll just make something up.

Nobody controlls the wind, lol. Had a good time after all. :D

But weird about the taste, is it still because of the surgery or covid? Must be super weird to eat stuff and not taste it. >.> That's like, the best thing of eating. D:

Sorry for the long silence. Been doing a 100 day of writing challenge and somehow that turned my ability to chat down low. :}

How far along are you with the 100 days? What are you writing?
