Cheesecake is very tasty.
Though I had some really bad ones before too.

I'm sickened and freaked out.

A child down the street from us was raped by some guy. He got away from the police, but most of the neighborhood got together and caught him and the police where called. The mother walked in on him raping her daughter. What I'd like to know is where was the mother? And did she know the guy well enough to leave her daughter with him. Or did he just walk into the house? Other than when she's with my parents, my daughter is with me all the time. I'm outside with her and if I have to go in, even if it's just to go to the bathroom, my daughter goes right inside the house. It just freaks me out. I want a bullet proof 10 foot fence with barbed wire and lasers. But if I could afford that I could afford a bigger house.

Death Candy: That's terrifying... I really hope the guy wasn't known to them and trusted by them because that makes it even more terrifying. But then again leaving a little girl alone in the house is crazy and even if the mother doesn't have other family to mind her, she can at least lock the door behind her and stuff... I suppose he didn't break in and do it or it would've made the news. That's seriously terrifying that he just gained access and that does sound like misplaced trust...
I'm glad he was caught though. It's terrible that a child had to suffer but he was caught and he's going to have to deal with the consequences so thank god for small mercies.

Don't worry, Candy *hugs* like you said you're always with her and otherwise have family to be with her so nobody's going to be able to hurt her! Maybe you can still get a security system you can afford like an alarm system, I think it should be fine as long as you know if someone's trying to gain access who shouldn't be.

I love imagining my friends from various sites converging on one site. I don't have time for all the sites I like to talk to people on and end up missing them.

Lady River: I've never had lemon meringue pie but then there aren't any proper bakeries in my city. My mother and aunt have gone to Cookie Man to get me cookies though. They'll only get a few because that place is expensive but hey~ proper cookies for once! Not those terrible crumbly mass-manufactured variety that I can't swallow anymore!

It's difficult to get proper authentic desserts and bakery items here. Take cheesecake just as an example. Most of the bakeries don't have it and you have to go to a high class continental cuisine restaurant to stand a chance. Same situation with croissants. Most bakeries have the really basic pastries and iced cakes, sometimes they don't have even the popular classics like apple pie instead they have stuff that's supposedly popular locally like Chicken 65. It's kind of pathetic really.

Wow that's definitely weird.
Pasteries here have a big variety and while some specifically make sweets, others are more of a bakery style and got lots of other stuff too.
