Eh, it doesn't seem strange to me; I know a lot of people who don't have a cellphone.

Most of the time I don't either... but after the latest bout of family health emergencies, I was gifted one.
Not really sure how to use it, but I do have it.
Not sure how long I'll keep it, either -mostly it just seems to exist to deliver bad news.
And who wants that?

On the other hand, if it really could play games maybe I'd like it better

I find that most Chinese people I meet tend to talk fast, even when they're speaking English. While Canadians born here are geeenerally more paced? It's just in general though XD

I know that I tend to talk fast when I get worked up/excited. But when I'm calm I speak slowly /o/

For me I use my phone's phone function mostly for making appointments? Often my doctor/dentist appointments will phone me to confirm dates or text me appointment details.
Also, having a phone plan means data XD

i actually don't know anyone in real life that doesn't have a phone... but i feel like i know a few online xD i play games on my phone a lot and look at memes, so it's important to me >>;;

It's a regional holiday.
I live in a region with another language (we speak both Spanish and Galician) and today (just woke up) we celebrate our Galician literature.

Here holidays are often on a specific date, so they may fall in any week day.
Next year it will be Wednesday, which is the less interesting of them all - kinda breaks the week in two.

@Amura: That's very interesting, we don't have any holidays like that. Our holidays are always anchored to like "the third friday of this month" or something, so it's always going to be a long weekend.
I'm learning a lot from you today, I've never heard of Galician before now! :D

Literally just talking about cellphones with my boss. He pointed out my iTouch and asked me what edition iPhone it was and i was like “no that’s an iTouch” and then we just started debating the merits of having or not having a cellphone…xD;;
But yeah, if i ever get a phone, it would be mainly to play games. Maybe i’ll get one of those pay as you go talk/text plans…but get unlimted data or something hahaha. XD

I talk fast in english, my mom sometimes refuses to speak to me if i talk in english. My chinese is…slow? XD;; like normal conversation yeah but it can devolve into Chinglish. XD but you didn’t say, how does a google pixel compare with apple?

Here some holidays are like that, but not many. Easter comes to mind.

Most of them are anchored to a date, in this case the day in which the first book in modern Galician literature was written.
Most of them are religious - such as Christmas, New Year Eve oand the Epiphany (Jan. 6th)

I find that Google Pixel's functions and interface are a lot cleaner than Apple's! You aren't limited to specific apps, or even the apple store, and it's just easier to use. You can download things directly, download apps directly even from websites! ALso the battery life is to die for. I have a Pixel 3, which is like 4+ years old now, and it can still go most the day without needing to charge!

@Amura: Where I am there are a lot more regional holidays? Basically there's a long weekend every month for one reason or another XD Like BC (the province's name) Day, Family Day, Canada Day....

If you ask me, that's better.
I would like my students to have more regular breaks, a long weekend every month would be much better than random holidays here and there.
You can really get rested.
