I can usaly tell when someone is taking others art and calling it there own. Like they just trace it and color it. But when I call them out on it there is usually them and there friends that come after me. >_<;

Haha, mostly I just know what to look for XD Like you mentioned with having many styles in their gallery, they'll often have art of varying skill levels too, and often they aren't smart about who they steal from and will steal some of the most popular art on deviantART.

Well this one person, It was a bunch of dogs and creatures, but like how they drew feet and tails all that kind of stuff was different every time. The anatomy was really good but then the coloring sucked like a little kid colored them. Then there were all these people saying how awesome they were. It drove me BONKERS. But I left it alone because on that site I got chewed out for telling someone to give credit to the original artist, They were saying they didn't copy when we had the original and could lay it perfectly over. There side of the argument was that they looked at the pic once at school when home and was able to recreate it. *rolls eyes*

lol sorry ranting.

My cousin can do that, see a pic and then re-created it really accurately later on. But that's because he has no creativity of his own and has to see something to draw it. He doesn't draw very often though because that is copying XD

But yeah, art thieves that build up a defense wall of "blinded" fans are the worst! D:

Well there are a few rare people that can do it. But All I would say if give credit to the original and people are fine with it. There would not be all the drama if they would just say yeah I worked from that or whatever. =/

-nods- Yeah, I just wish people would give credit more o3o; One of my best friends used to trace (not sure if she still does) and not admit it because she is so insecure about her own art that she would trace stuff to try and get praise. Then if you found it out and called her out on it she'd turn into an emotional puddle DX Never quite know how to deal with her and her 'art' as she's not very good but tries to act like she's better than almost everyone else >>;;;

I just do not under stand why people do that. When I got my first tracing book as a kid. I traced something then thought, Why should I be tracing? This is like cheating to make good art. So I ended up doodling my own stuff on the trace paper.

Sometimes I trace/copey stuff to learn from, but I never take credit for it then and if I'm going to reference something so heavily I make sure I get stock pictures too o3o

and that's just to practice anatomy and poses o3o

Its OK the do it to learn from. I just don't think its something to get fandom on. ^_^;
