I've been wanting the snow to melt. The roads are all icy and there have been a lot of car crashes around here lately.

@Crysta-I know!! It's so pretty!! This is our first snow for the season so I'm excited!
@Star-Wellllll...yeah, car wrecks are bad. I don't like driving on icy roads either.

I hate the snow, but I can understand why people would like it. Mainly because I can't ride my horse in the snow, and the car crashes make it even worse.

agreed, it can also be a bad thing. i like the ice when i am skating with friends in special places for this, but on the roads or pavement - total dislike.
and people who are not reckless when driving on icy roads should have no problem with proper tires. right? *not a driver*

Even the most careful driver can misjudge when they need to stop, or they might go over a patch of black ice (which you cannot see) and lose control of the car for a while. Depending on the size of the ice and the surroundings, even the best of drivers can be seriously harmed or even killed by this. Also, the people who aren't careful driving are dangers to the everybody, I've seen plenty of cars swerve off of roads and nearly hit pedestrians. Even for the best drivers, in my experience driving in snow is extremely dangerous and risky.
Also, tires can only help so much, and many people don't get them, raising the risk of other drivers spinning out and running into you.

Luckily around here the roads are kept pretty clear when it snows and/or ices. Unfortunately there are a lot of people who haven't got the sense to stay home when the roads are bad.

Sometimes it's that way around here, too. When it gets that bad I just stay home. My work closes if the roads are very bad so I don't worry about that.

I wish I could say the same. If I'm not actually sick, then I have to drive for 20 minutes to get to school.

Well, that sucks! They should cancel classes if the roads are bad! It's not worth someone risking their life over is it?
