I often trace for practice (I need a lot of that, believe me!) and I just can't find my "own style". Whenever I draw something, it reminds me of someone else's style and then I'm frustrated... :qcry:

It takes awhile to get your own style, but you'll find it :3

I hope you're right... I'm so bad at "visualizing" something myself, so when I draw, it rather looks like something from my memory (when I looked at a good picture) than like my own imagination. You see, it's all here in my mind, but it's having a nightmare getting out. :qd:

It's good to hear that it can be overcome in the end. ^^°

Have you ever put your older work next to your newer work and looked at the different/improvement? Or redone an older work? It's rather encouraging o3o I'm currently redoing a picture I did two years ago and it's waaaaay better so far XD

One of the art teachers told me that you don't really reach your true style till your late 30s. or something like that.

@Empy: I don't have many (do I even have any?) of my older works... I mostly threw them away out of shame. :qsob:

@KC: Well, that might be true for a real artist *nods*; me as an amateur would actually like to have anything that can be called a "style"... :qhehe:
I guess I'll really have to take courses.
