And I watched a documentary about the green. It wasn't paint, though or at least not just. It was in the clothes, and the wallpaper, and anything they could colour green.
Eeeeh, Victorian Era aficionado/fashion historian here. It wasn't just green. Basically, any vibrant color could have arsenic in it. Arsenic Green was just the most well-known one that they knew for sure was toxic.
It was especially popular in flocked wallpapers. but yeah, there was also Arsenic Blue, Arsenic Yellow, Arsenic Red... and every color in between, pretty much.
