It wouldn't be direct, but roundabout would work
Player A has the donuts
Player B has the troth tokens
A wants stuff but doesn't have the tokens
B doesn't have the donuts
They negotiate a trade via items, estimating worth of the items
Then yeah, token/donut trading

I have bought things with donuts and exchanged for items before so yup can be done.
Now though I'm hoarding donuts so I can get the new items asap.

Gosh I always forget to collect my tokens so mine is always on week 1. lol I think the most tokens I got was 110

I only trade for items so there's that too.

In theory they're certainly easier, but for people who aren't on daily or chat a lot, donuts are the easier currency
