Well, tomorrow is Memorial Day, and most places are either not open at all, or only open for a few hours.

Yeah, holiday is British word for vacation ^^'
I like comparing words from British and American English.
Schools outside of USA usually teach British English, it's funny to get confused about words when talking to people from America.
