Oooh, themed cafes could be really cute....
you could even get pictures for the walls of some of the 'famous' past cats (ie previous event pets, but portrait/picture form, like the ones we have already for some of the NPCs).

LOL that sounds like a sweet idea!
That portrait idea reminds me of another theme: haunted school. And those pictures could be past principal

Oh, fun! See, if I were in a haunted school, my first thought would be, "are there ghosts selling exam answers? Because how do you proctor a test when there are ghosts around?"

in priority, weird priority.... much the same sometimes, in my head. :qsq:

Oh! Okay, slight tangent here, but if you were designing a game and only one building in the city could be haunted, which would you choose?

I'm really torn, it's why I'm asking.

It would be kind of interesting to have it be something like the main bus station, so that it was hard to avoid the building, but easy to overlook the haunts in all the bustle.

It would be easier to explain if it were somewhere like the hospital; and a lot more expected. Better, then, if it was more subtle, like a 'roommate' in what should have been a private room, or a nurse who comes to check in on you and make sure you're okay, and tells you your family was asking after you, but it turns out the nurse is referring to your relatives who have already died, not your still-living relatives. That kind of thing.

Easier to weave into a story if it's something simple like the house next door.

Funnier if it's someplace like a fast food restaurant.

More unexpected if it's not people-ghosts but the haunted building is actually a ghost of a building that was destroyed ages ago, and at night it reappears solid enough for people to go in and use the building (maybe a warehouse with a shady past, that kind of thing)

Oh, that's interesting!

Yeah... I do like the haunted hospital but I felt it was too cliche. So I went with nursery haha

LOL fast food restaurant!! I like it xD

Oh wow, that one's really interesting. Are you trying to make a story or?

helping a friend design a game for a class she's taking. If we make it interesting enough, there's another of our friends who will do some illustrations and she can pitch it to some people the teacher knows.

She's allowed to pull in a team to help even if they aren't in her class, so that part's okay. She checked.

The teacher put it, 'use your resources, and be creative, so if you know some people then that's a resource you have too. No, none of you can use me.'

Or something like that. I heard it second-hand, after all.

Anyhow, I've been having fun trying to think of little side-quests and scenic background stuff to add in, since she's doing the main storyline.
