"suspicious" is a weird way of saying "incredibly cute", Moi ;)
Awwwwwwwwwww!

Random question Firn: Have you stopped doing votes for the remakes? I noticed the wind fairy wings have been remade silently.

I redid them without a vote, yes. I have grown so tired of remake votes for many various reasons. One of them is that most items get voted "yes" anyway (I think only 3 have been voted "no", out of some hudred?), but the people who are against remakes are pissed off either way. Giving them the chance to vote doesn't make a difference. Actually most of the users who made a big fuss about remakes they did not like have left the community by now. Which makes me think I did all those votes for nothing and should just have changed items without votes from the start, because the votes didn't really change anything in terms of some people being more happy or acceptant of them.
But the other reason is that recent events have assured me of what I already thought for a long time: That letting people vote on stuff doesn't ensure that the best/smartest/most reasonable choice is being voted. See Bretix or Trump.
In addition to this the site has become so inactive over time that I have the feeling most people don't care enough about KOfK to be bothered anway.

Some people might get upset over this again - But they were anyway and the votes didn't change that. Since it's a no-win situation for me, I can just save myself the trouble of the votes.

And, last but not least, the Wind Fairy items were some of the very old ones - They needed a change really bad, but at the same time none of the colors would fit probably. No matter what color I picked - someone would be unhappy. If I picked Turquoise, someoen would say he prefered Teal, or Bright Turquoise or Blue. If I picked Teal, someone else would say they preferd another color and so on. I just felt like this was just something I don't have the nerves for anymore. We are buried in work here, I can't deal with these things right now.

I completely understand your reasoning, and I had guessed it was something like that. I just wanted to confirm that this was the case and I wasn't just too blind to see the vote :)

I have to admit that I have been one to complain about the colour choice you made for a few items in the past as well :mcblush: Of course, you can never make everyone happy and you should do what you think is best.

There are two aspects to the voting threads that I will miss though, that have nothing to do with the actual voting:
First, noticing that the item has been updated at all. I was actually waiting for the wind fairy wings to be remade, since they were quite difficult to use (although pretty!) due to their colour. I noticed it today because I was looking through my wardrobe to see if I had things I could list for sale, because those extensions are just too pretty, but I have no idea how long they've been like this or when I might have noticed if not for my sudden FC cravings.
Second, I always really liked seeing the comparison between old and new item, it being interesting in the same way that the NPC art you posted a few pages ago is interesting - just to see how your style has evolved and your art has improved. I think it's nice that in the vote thread we kind of have a record of all these items and their improvements. Seeing the comparison also often made me realize that the new version is actually better (because e.g. the perspective is better) even if I dislike that it fits with other colours than I used it with previously. If I can't see the old version anywhere I just have this fond memory that might not be realistic at all.

So, if I may (and just ignore me if you don't want to deal with it, I won't be mad) make a suggestion: You could have a locked thread (or just the old voting merged thread) and just post the comparison of old and new item kind of as a "this item has been updated" message. I understand if you are worried that people might then go ahead and make threads to complain about the items again... I don't know how likely that is (or how much less likely it is with the silent updates, seeing that I myself feel a bigger need to talk about them just because people might not notice and I want to show them the shiny new thing I found), so I don't really know if it's a good idea, but I would personally love to see it.

Suspicious = incredibly cute
I'll keep that in mind U8

I noticed some items got redone.

Maybe if you stop calling attention to it, years later, people will be like ">> WTF!?" but it's too late by then u8

Chrizine, I don't have a problem with people not liking a certain color choice, as in, I am not mad at these people or anything like this. I completely understand this - everyone likes different colors. Though it is still a bit sad knowing that, no matter what you do, someone will end up being disapointed.
What I just don't like is when comments in the remake threads get rude and there have been so many of them in the past. ( But luckily that was already a long time ago. Most of the rude people seem to have left and the threads were mostly civilized at some point.)

I am afraid making the comparison images for old and new items was actually what was taking me the longest. The thread itself was just copy & paste after all. But putting together the avatars can easily take me up to half an hour or more (maybe it is because I am so picky with avatars and item combinations, I don't know. It's taking me ages) I really don't have the time for this right now. Starkad and I are burried in work and some of the things have deadlines we need to meet.

Moi, I have remade quite a few other items no one ever seeme dto have noticed. But these were new items to begin with, so for most of them I just made cleaner putlines. I guess it's hard to notice a difference if you do not see the items side by side, so no one probably noticed. Which is fine by me.

The ones I've seen look much better 8u

I have this thing where I don't recognize things.
Like I've lived in my neighborhood for over a decade and I will ask "How long has that been there 8u/" and my family will be like "Always >__>"
So sometimes I do wonder if you redid something, but I don't want to ask xD;

Aha, he is just too mysterious to put in words right now. I'm glad that the avvie has his smiling though. X3
