Part of it depends on what you eat, I think, which is why some ethnic groups smell more strongly than others. Also depends if they use deodorant. XD

Oh, I don't wear them either! I mean, I carry scented hand sanitizer, but that's mostly it (I have eucalyptus lotion but I don't use it much). Mostly, I like those scents previously listed in association to things like hand soap. I use a lot of hand soap. D:

I don't think people can tell if they smell as well as other people can. But it is lucky if you're the type who sweats less often or smells less strongly.

I stick to nivea spray deodorant because i can handle that one.

I only have one perfume, doesn't irritate me much and smells lovely. It's a beyonce one amusingly.

I can't use a lot of hand soaps except ones for sensitive skin. My hands dry up quickly. So it's better to just use water and that's it.. (for washing hands). (my body washes in the shower don't really irritate my skin much)

I can't tell when I smell sometimes but I do try to refresh the uh smell if I do with the deodorant where possible. =/

Cheap fragrances are usually the ones that smell bad/stick in your throat. Good quality perfumes are too light to do that, even if you don't like the smell.

I wonder if I smell like chicken stock and garden herbs or lollies. That's all I eat. I do like a good curry but yeh, I think it's the curry spices.

Mika sounds like you use a lot of hand soap. I'm like River, can't use soaps on my hands or anywhere really. Once a week I rub down with a rose body wash but if I do it too often my skin gets angry. It's most water and shampoo for me.

Maybe everyone is buying fragrances from Chemist warehouse. Idk, they're more heady if you know what I mean. I've been to the fancy perfume counters and they all make me want to vom e.g. Jo Malone counters.

I don't like perfumes or air fresheners or cleaning products.
I recently cut through the cleaning aisle at a store and got a terrible headache until I left.

I prefer food-y scents.
I'd love to smell like chocolate 8u
All the deodorants I've bought this year, didn't smell good to me xD

I've come across a few women that had nice perfume on.
I so wanted to say "You smell good 8U" but people told me that's weird and creepy xD;

Earlier this year, we went to the dollar store and this guy in front of us had a pack of beer.
I could smell his breath from like 7ft away.

It's funny how people try to smell nice and when someone compliment them on their nice smell, they feel creeped out. Wasn't it the purpose tho? XD

Ohmygosh, I went to the supermarket with bf today, and there was that guy with a pregnant belly (like seriously, his gut was huge!) and he smelled like a combination of fresh sweat and unwashed body (like unwashed for maybe 2 weeks, is my guess). I couldn't breathe in that same aisle he was in XS

Yeah, there's that too. And I don't function well with a headache.

I am paranoid about stinking, but most of the soap and stuff I use are unscented. Like, cucumber and calendula soap for my hair and in the shower, and Pears on my hands. And I tend to put tea tree oil on me because I like that smell better than I like the smell of me.

They get me too. I'm weird.

Also, I tell my friends if they smell good. But they know that I can identify people by scent, and they're used to me being weird, so maybe that's why they aren't creeped out.

memoriam: You would think so. But I was told to word it better. Like say I like the fragrance or perfume. But I don't think that way xD
If someone smells good "You smell good :U"

I actually went to a store earlier this month and I turned down an aisle and smelled BO.
I thought it was me at first because it was so strong, that I thought it was me and was just close but I had showered and put deodorant on earlier.
So it wasn't me.

@Poshi

Yeah, I wash my hands several times a day. When I'm at home, my house can get pretty dusty, so every time I clean an area, I wash my hands after or in-between sessions. I always wash my hands when go into work, and every time I come back from going out, and every time I'm about to eat or touch food, and every time after I handle money. Also every time I used the restroom, ofc.

It's fine to wash without soap to some degree, since washing your hands has to do with technique more than anything else. You really need to scrub properly. I like using soap, though, since it makes me feel more at ease, and soaps that are made specifically for hand washing seem to have a milder scent, imo.

@Moi

Yeeeah, don't tell people they smell good unless you're good friends. Even if it's weird to hear a friend say it, if you're friends, then you've probably already said worse to each other and so no one thinks too hard about it. XD

@memoriam

Some people like smelling good for themselves? I mean, the scents that you like aren't necessarily the ones other people like, and although you think it smells good on you, someone else might have a different opinion.

Also, it's kinda a personal space/personal boundary thing. Certain things just seem disturbing/invasive.

Tbh, the worst place I can think off of the top of my head for BO is at anime conventions. It can get gross fast.

I get eczema, and my hands get a form of dermatitis at times.

Thus whole, no soap much.
