I hope the colour update means more colours for items like the newer colours. I hate it when I think oh that items perfect...oh it's not in any of the colours I wear :(

My mother is like that (above) with alcohol. She continually asks me why I don't take my medication and drink at the same time. I just stared at her the other day and I said, because it's drowsy and that means if you take alcohol with it it's really dangerous. She laughed and said hey, your uncle drinks all the time with his epilepsy medication so it must be fine. This is my uncle who just got out of his second surgery from heart attacks and has also had a whole bunch of other medical problems. So, yay? Weird woman just doesn't seem to get it, apparently since he's not dead it's proof that I would be fine to do something medically inadvised. It literally says on the paper for my medication "DO NOT MIX WITH ALCOHOL" in all bold.
Just because someone's family doesn't mean you have to put up with them. My mother disowned her mother after a miserable childhood. She died a year or so ago with none of us having seen her for 20 years. We heard many stories from other family members of how she was still manipulating them and causing trouble so no one was really that sad when she died. She even missed the chance to be saved from her heart attack because she had faked a heart attack so many times before that no one called an ambulance until she was actually dead.

@Moi: Nooo, I'm Polish XD And it's mixed up here. We have 1st and 2nd November, they're both holidays, but only the one on the 1st is a work-free day, and that's a "All Saints Day" or something. And the 2nd November is so called "Zaduszki" or "Deceased Day", which is not a work-free day. I suppose it's because Zaduszki is more or less a pagan holiday, even though nowadays it's technically "celebrating the deceased catholics" or something. So instead of going to the graves on the 2nd day, like we should, everybody goes on the 1st, because it's a free effing day, we have the special cemetery bus lines (tho I think they work both days actually), and the next day everybody goes to work again. So people usually go on the 1st and that's it. Those days can be more like bazaars tho, hats, masks, clothes, sweets... But no, it's not really the Dia de Muertos, same idea, different things XD
I still remember my grandpa the night before he died, we were visiting him with my mom and sister, and he was barely speaking, more like whispering, still, and then suddenly he craved peaches. And it was really sad that we only had the canned ones, not fresh ones, because it was January. I remember mom feeding the peaches to him, he was so weak, just laying in the bed...
@jacob: Maybe your mom's one of those people who tend to think "what doesn't kill you..." on everything? XD
That story is pretty strong. But it seems like Ash has someone like that in his family so. Or more like, on a good way to be that person who doesn't make anyone miss them after they will die...

@mem yeah, it's pretty sad in many ways. The only time she gets any emotion when talking about her is when she will randomly bring up at some point, "one time my mother did this to me", and she gets really angry even now still. There are probably lots of stories she has never even told like that. But yeah she also grew up mostly fending for herself so she has the "everyone has to toughen up like me" mentality
Oh your grandpa story
it gave me feels. I can just picture this old man who only wanted peaches

It's sad your mom is still suffering from her mother's actions. But I guess no one really lives down everything that their parents have really fucked up at some point. Or on many points. So that you can draw a line...
But also projecting your own experiences to everybody else is not that good either
I know

Now I remembered we didn't even have peaches when he asked, so we offered other fruit to him, but he really wanted peaches and didn't want anything else (so it additionally felt like his last wish, especially all his closest family was there with him, and it felt like the last gathering together), so mom went to the store to get the canned ones.
I can give you even more feels with his death story.
Spoiler
It was day, and grandma was tired, so she went to the other room for a short nap, previously making sure he didn't need anything at the moment. She woke up suddenly and immediately went to check on grandpa. His eyes were open and he was still warm, but already gone. Grandma felt super guilty about that nap, because she felt that she should've been there for him so he wouldn't be dying alone. And he did... Okay, so maybe it only gives me the feels, because when grandma told the story it involved supernatural stuff, like she woke up because she's felt he's already gone, plus granny was super in love with grandpa. Grandpa was unreadable for me ^^; It still hurt to look at him go, so tired with chemo.
The worst part is, he wasn't that old, 68 only. Though that's still older than my paternal grandpa, who never got to know me because he passed away at 55yrs old(!), on the same year my older sister was born. Also lung cancer as far as I know. Apparently both my grandpas were dragons (I call smokers that).
But well, people die young as well. Ash's mom was only 39...

Why you make me cry
People dying sucks but it sucks more when they're young. I never even met my grandfather on my dad's side as he died when my dad was a teen. He's super quiet about it so all I know is
1. he served in WWI
2. he was stationed in Burma at one point (maybe)
3. he had a rank, can't remember what but it was above private
I wish he would talk more about it but I guess it's too painful.

That's cool! I want a new one too, a bigger one, because it gets really crowded there with all the cats and dogs, but since our cats destroy everything, there is little point in wasting the money (not that I had any to spend anyway...)

Nice switch! We just paid off our new furniture that we got when we moved in. I kind of want to buy something else on finance now XD we need so many new things though. One of our wardrobes is held together by string. And our bookcases are totally overflowing. The main problem is getting enough room in the house though.
