I am the same opinion as merry. I like the storys itself too but songs somewhat disturb it for me, when they are walking on the street talking about something important and suddenly beginn dancing and moving and singing and all the people around do the same...

*sigh* I don't mind songs in movies if they contribute something to the story, and of course it is nice once in a while, but not all the time. :')

Well that is true to ml. The quality is going down, i am also not watching every movie. The ones who really touch my heart are from Chibli studios. <3

Even though I think you're right, I sort of fail to see how that has got anything to do with the musicals ^_^;;

Especially the 'people around do the same' part annoys the living shit out of me, have you ever seen people act like that? So unnatural! Try that out on the streets and people will lock you up straight away. And no one, not a single soul, will dance along according to the same choreography.
The only movie in which the singing and dancing was righteous was Enchanted. x'D

Ghibli was cute enough, but they're still a little strange and quiet for my taste. ^_^;;

haha, so true. It is just weird, but oh well can't be helped seems people actually like that? ^^'

Maybe for you it is strange but for me it is special. You call them strange but that is what makes them unique for me, and I'd like to be able to create something like that too one day. :)

Like I said, for my taste. I didn't mean it in the actual sense of strange. More like... I don't know the right word. Floating. xD
I watched some of them though and I didn't dislike it. But they're so quiet and... long? Not quite dynamic. I like dynamic.
