My training starts on Feb 10th. It's 5 weeks, I believe. So a lot of training. And then they said that you get to be on the floor for a bit and then you get more training. So I'm excited and nervous about it.

I'm alright with computers and the guy said that he was impressed by my computer skills but I still worry. I'm sure that most of the problems that are going to be called in are pretty simple ones.

Also, coincidentally and completely unknown to me, my cousin was hired there very recently as well. I made sure to sign up for a different schedule than her since we don't really get along at all.

Maybe it's just me but I view 'lots of training' as a good sign, because it means the company is investing more into its employees, so there's less likely to be lay-offs later...
It's coming up quick, though, that's just a couple weeks away!

Yes. I do think it's a good thing. I hate when the training is really short and they just throw you out to the dogs. Like when you become a cashier. lol.

Yes! It's so exciting. And nerve rattling. lol.

But I have a benefits package! I never thought that I would get that. Insurance, a retirement fund, discounted internet and cable services. So exciting. And the pay is really good. Way more than I've ever gotten at any other job. AND it's all sitting down. So I don't have to do a whole lot physically.

I don't think that I will. I think we might see each other a bit, but nothing too much.

Yes, I hope so as well. I've had horrible coworkers in the past. Retail is soul sucking, man.

Oh, it sounds so promising! A really good fit for you, and maybe even enough to actually live off of! It is so, so, so good to hear this.

Oh yes. It is enough for us to live off of comfortably. Actually we could possibly survive even if husband stopped working. Well not right now obviously. But after we get our stuff all worked out. Pay off the credit card. Pay our student loans.

And this opens up so many opportunities. Like we can actually get a newish car. Which we really need. The job is a little far away, but it's not a terrible commute. I'm just worried about poor Betsy (our car) dying on us.

Did I mention that there's a gym at my job? Like the gym is in the building. So I'll be able to work out before or after working. And maybe get a little more in shape.

This is so incredible You can get out of debt! (If nothing else goes wrong) You can maybe even start saving! This is just -ahhhh, I'm so happy for you right now!!

I know right? It's amazing.
I'm not used to this much luck happening to me. I usually have really horrible luck.

Yes. That's what I hope. My husband is pretty good with money. Which is the only reason that we've survived this long in this situation.

I'm hoping to be able to invest maybe? Maybe make my money work for me.

So many possibilities suddenly open up, it's pretty much the definition of life-changing.
