Imo bullguard is a great one but alas I can't get more free trials from it after the first one.

I turn off all the anti-virus software that comes with the computer. We usually get MacAfee installed for free here but I hate it, and besides the free trial runs out almost immediately. They're so irritating because they constantly bug you for money and slow down your system. I've had crashes caused by MacAfee scans more times than I can count, if you don't stop them in time they basically shut everything down.

I've been using Avira for years, never had any problems with it.

Don't use avast, guys, it downloads viruses only to make it seem like it's working, but it only makes things worse. Been there, done that. Now I think I might have the windows defender on, not sure tho. Anyways, I'm happy with it.

But I should run the CCleaner, I keep forgetting about it ;>_>

That's the one that killed my computers! That's the one!

And now I have Avast, which is a vast pain in the aft and the reason I'm looking for a new free program. I don't have, and will not have Windows 10, because when I tried to get it, it froze the computer, so I think I can't have Windows Defender.

I think I'll try the Avira. Surely it can't be worse than Avast?

My pc is custom built so no free macafee or others. Besides windows defender.

I think if your pc doesn't like windows 10 it could be because you did the upgrade rather than the install.. (upgrade being where it keeps your files). Install being a fresh start. And some pc's just don't like either because while windows says your pc can handle it, it is probably so old it can't.


Hm I'll look into avira. I haven't had issues with avast besides trying to get me to buy it. -notes to self to ask in the pc group about it-

My PC is NOT old.

It is cheap. LOL

Maybe cheap is why?

Or just even though it said it could, the specs might have just not been enough as in the minimum not recommended..
