Indeed!

One just leaves a few years and all of a sudden she does not recognize any item! :D

Oh no! Sadly I did a pretty good job of purging them the other day xD

I do have this one left over, which is just a TT set with a couple of items slapped on top? I have no idea why I would save this.

I think Hana's comment refers to the fact that it's not very creative.
Treasure Trove sets are, well, sets. All the items within a set match perfectly. And they look great together. That's why they are released as sets.

But when it comes to creating an avatar, using a set as a whole does not pose any challenge. It's a bit more boring from the creator perspective, even if it looks nice.
So for most avatar creators, an avatar which simply includes a set would not be worth saving.

I have been taking a break. I have two commissions I need to finish but it's been months and I can't do anything right xD;

I understand not liking using sets. I've heard people say they don't like how avatars in contests are just a set because it's not hard to make it. An avatar that looks nice still looks nice. Set or not.

Imho it's ok using several items of a set, but I don't like it when the avatar is JUST the set.
Hana described her avatar just a TT set and slapped two or three items on top.
That I would not value highly.

You can use several items of the set and add other items which give depth or contrast and it can be a very nice avatar though.
Again using Hana's old avatar as an example, it seems like she was going to add green to a Midnight Purple set.
If she kept that path and added maybe a green background, some frame and details it would work nicely. Because it would be more than just the set.

Just my two cents.

Mixing and matching takes more work than using a set.
I just don't like for people to think that using a set makes them suck at making avatars u8

Anyway I versioned Hana's avatar :mclaugh:
The same kimono, and added green as she had thought :mccute:

XD I'm pretty lazy half the time. I just click things and if it looks nice I keep it XD so I'll be done with an avi in like 5mins :mcheh:
