I had an incident at work over a year ago,
My boss hung up the phone after our head office didnt awnser and we started chatting to ease the fustration.

Our conversation was political but we were having a laugh
In a closed room with no one else in it.

Just between 2 people, friends even.

2 hours later we found out my boss hasn't hung up the phone and our head office awnser phone had recorded our chat.

The lady at head office was furious with it,
No body else's cared some even found it funny.

Because the 1 lady was upset,
We both nearly got fired.

Could you imagine if that happened to you,
Being watched or spied on when you having fun with a friend.

(Note I did get what we said was wrong, but it was just a laugh between us two at the time. We would never said any of it otherwise)

The random person on the other end takes offense.
You get arrested or worse?

Is that really fair?

It kind of depends on what you said, I guess. For example if they heard someone being racist and verbally abusive, then yeah, absolutely it's right to get in trouble for that. If you do something wrong just because you think you'll get away with it, then you get caught, you've got no right to complain, really. If it was against your workplace code of conduct then you shouldn't have that conversation inside your workplace.

To put it with a very extreme example: currently there are police forces that use fake profiles to try to catch paedophiles. So in theory the paedophile could complain and say, hey, I just thought I was talking to my friend, it's not fair to put me in jail for that. Except yes it is, and we do, because what they were doing was wrong.

Also, another real example: I know of people who have been fired from the place where my mother works because they posted things on Facebook. There's a specific note in their contract that they can't defame the company outside of work, so someone screenshotted their posts and brought it in to work as proof. Even though they have a private Facebook profile, they were fired for going against the contractual code of conduct once that proof was presented. They thought they wouldn't ever be caught because only their friends saw it, but it still counted and they had to pay the price.

I never say nothing in public now,
I hardly have a laugh at work anymore.
It's really quite sad, im seen as some one who firm but fair.
But never has a laugh anymore.
It's sad really because that's not me.
I can't say nothing as it may cause offense to that 1 person.

That I have to be a dull person, take abuse of other people.
But not allowed to defend myself.
That how it feels alot of the time now.

Yeah the amount of employees I warn about posting on face book is silly lol

Oftern leads to dismissal.

I warn every induction I do to lol

I can see how the spy thing will eventually get out of control ha ha

I use Facebook a lot. I don't like having to put my real name on there.
I also don't think I share anything too personal.
I mostly bitch and whine and put up anime pictures and random Youtube videos.
I've tried having a fake name on there but I got suspended.
I also got suspended for "having too much information" which I didn't. O_o

I automatically assume people listen and see everything we do.
If you post something, it's seen.
If you do something, it's automatically collected and checked by someone.
From personal experience, they're always listening and watching.
Which apparently makes me "paranoid" u8

I think so too 8u
But I get weird looks when I talk about stuff like that.
I guess it's because I'm anxious xD
Because I do tend to go off .

Me: Oh, I didn't lock the door. Welp, now someone's going to come in and slit our throats UB
Me: -trips- Oh God I'm going to break my neck and be useless and a burden to my family until I die broken and alone! -gets bruise- Ow >8u

I think I am very boring Facebook person. I don't share anything on my wall and I have only filled out some basic information. I mainly use it for private messages with a few friends and I used to be active in a few dog groups (But if anyone wants to spy on me about what I feed my dogs, they are free to do so...). But now I don't even post there anymore.
I think there is this one friend with whom I basically only communicate through facebook, otherwise I might have gotten rid of my account altogether, as I don't really use it. (And of course I need a private Facebook account so I can manage the KOfK Facebook account, but as I don't think it's really helping this site at all, I don't feel like it'S an urgent thing)
Partly that I don't want to share much private information there, but part of it is also that I am probably just a very boring person and not much worth reporting happens in my life. I will never understand the people who post what meal they had today or how they have been to the gym on Facebook all the time. It's not only over-sharing information, it's also not something anyone will really care about? Or am I just ignorant? I have this one friend who shares that she is in the gym almost every day. And I am like, yeah, I know you go to the gym daily, no need to remind me?

I like taking photos of food, but I don't post about it much except to one group I'm in.

Generally because a) I don't cook much
b) if the food is a dessert I'll take a pic if I remember and share it. Generally I eat it before I remember to take the pic.

I used to post a lot. Now it's just sometimes. And I'm actually deleting old cringe making posts I've done in the past.

I used to post a bit more on facebook years ago, but never really much, usually maybe just a post a month. :mcheh:

I love taking photos and I actually share photos of doog cookies and cakes I have baked, but not on Facebook (Because I really think absolutely none of the people I am friends with there is interested in dog cookies), but on my dog blog. I think it's probably the place on the internet where I share the most.
