I don't think it's ever going to happen though, she's already about 40 yo, not a great age to have a change of heart. :(
The problem with annual meeting with a psychologist would be, there's always something to discuss or a room for improvement. It doesn't always require therapy but psychologists tend to make you think it does

It's a bit like editing that way, no? You can always find something to improve...
but even if you come away every year with a list of things you want to work on for the year, that's like a new year's resolution list anyhow, yes? I like the idea.

I like the way Akili puts it.
Gives you a list of things to work on. And if they detect anything too serious then they can do some follow up.

A resolution list doesn't sound so terribly. A;though people usually tend to fail at fulfilling them XD

I agree, that way sounds good :)
mem, maybe if people didn't just come up with that list on their own, but rather together with their psychologist who might also give them some tips for how to work on it, they'd be better at it?

It's not the same kind of therapy, but my dad got into a lot of accidents and needed surgeries so he had to go to physical therapy a lot.
I'd go with him and watch him work with physical therapists and it made me want to be one too.
I planned to be one for a long time, but eventually got to where people scared me so I didn't want to work near people.
I also wanted to be a psychiatrist or a psychologist, but I figured I was too screwed up to be one, so how would I help others?
Then I decided I'd prefer to work with animals.
Preferably vet assistant, but training and grooming and stuff would be cool too u8

I don't have much hope for a future career anymore. I'm too unhealthy. I'm constantly in pain. It super sucks.

I'm rather unskilled / lacking experience but I'm studying now so hoping that'll help with the skill bit.

Being unhealthy or in pain doesn't mean you can't do something if you want to. When my pain and fatigue got too much I just started working from home instead. I'm running two businesses even though I have to keep upping my meds. There's always a way if you really want to do something.

I'm 30 now and don't have much work experience.
I never had a paying job.
Only things similar to jobs were volunteer work, helping my dad at his deli, and being a mod on here xD
My dad's deli did help me with buying supplies, keeping the kitchen clean, cooking and stuff 8u
