Oh, what a handy term for that grouping of options! Thank you, Lady River.

Age can be an advantage too sometimes. When you're older you have experienced more, and you're likely to be more sensible. Some companies won't take younger people.
I understand that easily, because all my interns are students/new graduates, and they're so young they don't understand anything... I have to teach them everything haha. They don't even have proper working manners/etiquette. So an older person is better, like the photographers I work with, I feel like I can talk to them as a peer and they understand me easier.

The main reason they take younger in here, is the pay. It's cheaper.

Also I don't have a lot of work experience.. so my age is still against me.

I hope I don't make anyone 30 or over 30 feel bad.
It's just me. I feel bad about myself and just myself.
Most people are more educated and have work experience at my age.
I dropped out of school, but I got my GED and volunteer work and that's it.

I told my mom I don't like seeing people I haven't seen in a while because they'll ask "So what're you doing now 8D" and the answer is "Nothing." which is embarrassing.
My mom said I do do something - art.
I'm a digital artist.
But I told her I don't get payed, so it's not a job xD

My uncle did make me feel good not long ago.
He told me he wished he had his knowledge at my age, like I do, instead of his late 40s.
He told me I had stuff figured out already that he didn't learn until late.

People experience life differently.
I've experienced stuff people older than me haven't and people younger than me have experienced stuff I might never experience.

I just wish that these days you didn't need experience for starter positions... cause that's what I keep finding. Ooh that job sounds goo-- wait a minute it needs experience that I don't have or don't have much of. And most my references are from another state.

That said I'm volunteering now so that should help out.

It's all about how you spin it. In order to get the current teaching work I do I had to demonstrate experience in teaching in the past. So I thought about it for a bit and realised I used to coach karate (when I was a young teen), taught French to students (when I was a young teen for about 2 weeks), trained people in my work environment (to take over my job when I was leaving, one single time), and also teach now (my interns, who I kind of just give instructions to rather than teaching). Take out the brackets and you've got what I put on my application form.
