That sounds more complicated than it should have be. But as annoying and frustrating as it is, spotty internet is better than no internet I suppose. Is the internet better in certain areas or at certain times, or is all problematic no matter what in Australia?
If I could just make it to Friday with no financial mishaps, I'll be able to donate as I've been pulling extra hours as well as over time at work.

We dropped in our internet ranking. That's how much this nbn plan changes suck.
We fell 8 spots.

oh and they don't offer the promised speeds unless you like pay through the nose for it and even then it's not fully promised.
Tbh I'd say our internet sucks overall. The planning is just terrible.

Our internet is generally strong enough most of the time except in the evenings when everyone is using it. BUT. Our new-build apartment block was set up with internet access built by a particular internet company, so that particular company has the right to the access. And they can decide whether or not to let other companies use it. So we only have one company that is able to provide our internet, they raise their prices every year, their plans suck in terms of value, and if it ever does go down their answer is "seems fine on our end, you must be doing something wrong". I literally tried to switch once to a better company that is half the price and they couldn't do it because they can't get access.
Sounds like an unfair monopoly to me, but hey, what do I know.

We were told we needed ours replaced with fibre optics because that's the future and it will run better and cost less.
YEAH RIGHT.
u8
As a kid I learned that if something sounds too good to be true - it usually is.
Cost less and it will work better!? You lying mofos >Bu

I really don't know what fiber optics actually is xD;
I know I've seen glowy things in decorations and stuff, but I didn't know it could be used for internet.

It's basically just a different, fancier kind of cable that allows for data to be transmitted faster.
Instead of using electric signals in metal, it's using light in some kind of glass, which is faster (since light speed is the fastest anything can move, unless you're going into some crazy quantum teleportation area where everything is confusing).
So yes, if they have fibre, you can get better speeds, but most likely the provider will still charge you more for the better speeds, if only because they can. But if they offer to switch you to it at the same price, I'd definitely go for it :)

That actually sounds pretty damn cool 8U
We've had ours changed for a few months.
I really can't tell the difference, but that's fine as long as it's less on the bill xD
But our internet seems to constantly cut out randomly.
And it's incredibly annoying having it happen over and over again.
However, when I call the company, they're usually nice.
My family makes me talk to them because they can't understand their accents and I can and I know more than they do about the internet and computer xD
I actually do wonder why it's easier for me to understand people with accents.
My aunt will tell me she can't understand them, but I understand them.
Maybe it's because my grandma had a thick German accent and I had two teachers from The Philippines and have been around a lot of Mexicans xD
I actually wonder how my grandma maintained her accent...
I've never met anyone else here with one and my aunt and uncle definitely don't have one ._.

It is cool.
I do wonder what our new plan will be when we're fully connected to nbn

Hopefully reasonable u8
My aunt and mom were laughing at me because a bill went up $18 and I was having a fit because we haven't been using it any different, but it went up $18.
To me, it'd make sense if we used the service more than usual, but we didn't. So it was bullshit that it went up >__>
