Sadly we've been working towards clearing the cupboards for dietstuff so no supplies... :mccry:
Oh well. At least tomorrow I'll get loads of fruit to choose from (including strawberries, grapes, white nectarines... Num!)

yup. I love fresh fruit. It somehow always tastes different if it's riped normally as opposed to fruit that riped during transport. And most of them are from the local farmer, so they're healthier for the environment too!

I'm glad it's fruit season. Last winter my diet was hell only because I had such limited choices. Now all I wanna try I can get my hands on... (fruitwise anyways) I just know I'm gonna overeat on redcurrants though. They're too yummy. Not to mention strawberries...

Yes, local ones are the best! Especially if you can get them fresh-picked. Sooooo delicious
I love farmer's markets >w< Do you have one?

yes and no. We have weekly market where the farmers go to as well, but it's not quite like most farmer's markets I see in tv in the US or UK... It's a lot smaller, but a bigger variety...

And usually the berries from the farmers I go to are fresh picked each morning since they hate to have food go to waste. Sometimes, when they're out you'll need to wait as they send someone to go pick fresh strawberries... But yeah, the other fruit isn't always 'fresh' picked, but fresher than storebought ones.

I think what the farmer's market is like depends a lot on where it is :mchappy: I live in a small town, so the one here is mostly local farms selling fresh foods, and some freshly-made meal-type stuff for people to eat while they shop. In the city, there's a lot more meal stands also a lot of arts and crafts. I imagine in a big city it's even more different :mclaugh:
What is yours like?

It's a teenytiny town. So in my town there's only two farmer stands, but in the next town over (only 2 km away) it's bigger and there's some stands with clothing, foodstuff, farmers, flowers... that kind of stuff. But it's still small with only about 6 carts or so... In the smaller cities it's a whole square (over 50 carts)... I've never really been to a market in a big city though... The crowds overwhelm me too much...

Wow, that is really small :o And then really big! What a sudden size difference xD
I think here the small towns have shared markets so people can have more options :mchappy:

Edit: Anyways, there's a big storm coming in, so if I disappear I either lost power or went to dinner :mclaugh:

Yeah. That might be handy, but then again, out here everything is quite close... I can drive whichever direction I want and within 5 hours (max) I'd reach a different country... So I guess it's not that big of a problem to go to a different market than the one in your own town so small towns can remain very small markets and larger towns host most stands of all he different towns nearby besides their own stands... (since it's all on different days)
