Those will come a bit later in the spring for me. After the maple trees have shed all their seeds.

We have a few maples, but they're all pretty small. Not sugar maples tho
And one is a Japanese maple, cuz mom got tired of yellow leaves in fall, which is the majority of our trees. So we went to [local greenhouse] so she could get either orange or red, and came home with purple XD
A lot of the ends got eaten, but several made it through deer noms, so hopefully it'll survive this year, and grow

I have one Japanese maple. It's a miniature/dwarf so it's only about 3 feet tall. It's one that has red leaves all year long. I really like it!

Ooh, got a pic?
If it's in a pot, I wonder if it'd be considered bonsai

No, it's not that small. It's just a smaller size. It's also very slow growing. I've had it for about 7 years and it's only grown about 3 or 4 inches.

I follow a couple of bonsai pages on Facebook, and they've shown some that hang over the pot and said pot has to six about six feet up because of how low it goes. So I imagine that there's some up height qualifier, but no downward height one

Ah, spring time. When husband's grandparents lurk outside our bedroom window at the butt crack of dawn cleaning out our flowerbeds. Uninvited. So weird. Also waking us up. We both work at night.

Ok, that's kinda creepy. And rude. Maybe you can just take all the plants out and make a rock garden? Than they won't feel the need to take care of it.

I know right?
Nah, they'd still come over. They're creepy and nosy and pushy.
But they were very helpful during our financial crisis so I'm pretty grateful. They could be worse. lol.
