It sounds like the sort of thing that would be super confusing to try and translate, too.
The repetition in weird places would probably read like an error, and it'd be easy to go in circles with it.

I'm tempted to start a "most annoying things to translate" folder and add it.

Yeah, jargon and slang is definitely up there.
References are tricky, too. And quotations and sayings.
Do you translate directly or find an equivalent? Depends on what the client wants, sure, but if you're just doing it for fun then there's all these choices to make.

PUNS. reminds me of this one fantasy author called Piers Anthony. He has a series that is filled with puns, his Xanth collection. Makes me want to go find his books to read now lol. Maybe I’ll look for the ebooks lol.

I think I remember that title actually. But yeah it’s been a LOOOONG time since I’ve read him. The thing I remember the most was Boot Rear lol. It’s a drink that tastes like root beer but it also kicks you in the ass lol.
