Well, bookstores have a big problem which is to be nearly entirely filled with books in Japanese, which I can read but don't find really relaxing.

I could go to the French library but I have to change trains at a crowded station.
If I looked for it, I'm pretty sure there are a few English libraries but they're probably even further away from me.

At least my family sends me books for Christmas or my birthday so I survive on that.

You guys remind me I should be reading more in general QuQ I don't really like reading on screens either, I prefer the old-fashioned way. It's more relaxing.

Well before I might’ve wanted to read more physical books. However nowadays it’s mainly just webnovels and fanfics. XD physical books are too expensive lol.

But books would still be better than fanfics. I have nothing against FF, I used to write them as well, but they're not as polished as a well-published book.

Still, they’re a cheaper alternative. Besides I read fanfics cuz im entrenched in my fandoms lol. So I read them even if the vocabulary and grammar is lacking lol.

Yeah, they're cheaper, just not the best quality sometimes. They can be entertaining though.
What fandoms do you follow?

The only one I still really follow is MDZS / Mo Dao Zu Shi / Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation. It’s a Chinese BL one.

That seems to be really popular lately, I have seen a lot of my old fandom friends getting into that.

I don't follow anything anymore, it makes me kinda sad. Fandom made me happy.
And it's a shame because now I am in Japan I could go to Comiket and fangirl but I'm not interested anymore.
Still going to anime/manga themed exhibition though because I like to see the whole process of it, rather than liking the work in the first place.

Is it really lol? Altho personally I’m not too surprised. Since Japan and China like to release new audio dramas or release new seasonal merch. And bc of that, it injects new blood into the fandom lol.

Definitely yes. And old stuff comes back again and again, like they're having a CLAMP exhibition right now and on the week ends, the line to get in is three hours long.
I have seen a Magical Doremi Cafe recently and obviously Sailor Moon is always going strong.

And then you have some things like Natsume Book of Friends that regularly get new anime season and collector editions with every release and yet no one seem to care much. It's a very quiet fandom, pretty intersting.
