Come to think of it
I've lived without a real grandfather too
I've justnnever put much thought to it

Oneof them dies when dad was just 6 yr old
And now i have a step grandpa
Which i don't talk to a whole lot

And the other just disappeared off the face of the earth

Geez, it's been MONTHS. I'm sorry.

They weren't. I just wish they had come clean with it right from the get-go so that I didn't have to waste my time on them. Last guy was totally respectful and didn't do anything unless I made the move and that was just insanely attractive to me. It made me go further with him than I ever thought I would and I enjoyed every part of it. Reminds me of the story of the sun and the wind.

I work as a substitute-teacher at a government funded ESL program for adults. :3 Anyway, how are you now? I hope you're better than you were in March.

I was lucky to have both of my grandfathers growing up. I never knew my paternal grandmother, nor my paternal step-grandmother, however.

My grandpa died when he was 50.
He had just had a physical and was perfectly healthy.
Then he died from a heart attack.
He had a tooth infection and the, let's call it poison for lack of a better word, seeped into his heart and killed him.

Then my other grandpa died almost 4 years ago from cancer.
I spent most of my life with him, so it was rather devastating to lose him.
And it was the way he went out that made me so sad/angry.
My grandpa worked every day of his life.
He worked at the same company for over 40 years.
And only missed probably 6ish days of work ever.
He always did maintenance around the house.
He was a mechanic and worked on our cars.

Then the cancer took over and he couldn't even walk on his own.
To watch someone that strong and active go out that way makes me sad/angry.

He was in the hospice and they told us he was going to die soon.
He was already comatose.
My mom took me and my sister to see him.
He died a few minutes after we talked to him.
Everyone said he was waiting for his granddaughters to come before he died.

And I stood there and watched him breathe his last breath and die.
It will always be burned into my brain.

That is a horrible experience
but at least....you got to talk to him before he went

and i am like that with my aunt...who has recently passed away too
out of diabetes complications and kidney failures
she's more like my aunt-grandma
i just dont feel like she's gone either

I've lost one uncle recently but it feels like he's never gone because I never saw him often.

Yeah, that's kind of how it feels with my great grandmother.
Sometimes when people call, I think it's her.
