No I've noticed this too. If your in the shops, "claim" and click back you get the same candy(twice) again and when you click on it you get it, not a "you've already received message".
I've just tried this because I thought "OMG, there is some exploitable glitch in the event", but no, it works exactly like it's supposed to be, even in the shop. Got a candy, clicked on it to claim it, clicked back on my browser, clicked on the candy again and got the "Error! You can only claim a candy when you've found one!" message.
Everything fine.

It's true, but I think the reason for that is that every time you try on a new item, the page is reloaded, as if you were browsing around the site. So you should have more chances to get candy.

i go the shops and nothing.....
i only have 6 candies -sighs- getting 1oo of them is going to be tough if it's all timed based specific
i'll try to get the 1oo candies o.o

we have until oct 31:st. I dont think its impossible to get all the candy we need until then.
I got 3 only a few minutes appart when I first came here today and it wasnt even in the shops.
