Yeah, I was gonna say, ADHD is super overdiagnosed. I'm quite sure Dark doesn't have it, anyway.

Hah yeah I apparently have been diagnosed with something (Prolly ADHD) too but my parents never acted on it. So here we are.

I like seeing Night Vale fanart. They like tentacrotch I guess.
But I just can't bring myself to listen in.

See, the fanon in the art is part of what's kind of putting me off listening.

I HATE FANON SO MUCH. In every fandom.

though I did see art where Cecil was a dog

that was pretty adorable XD

Well fanon tends to rule in night vale since there's like... 5000000 different Cecils I've seen.

See, and it wouldn't bug me if all the art was like "here's my interpretation", but already I'm seeing only a handful of variations on what cecil might look like, and it confuses me because, well, why? why latch on to a single fanon interpretation like that?

and I don't even care about that mouth-to-mouth tease scene because it was followed by Makoto's big IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU'RE NOT THERE moment -- honestly I don't even remember what the line actually was just that it gave me Feels

I love Nagisa more every episode.

I have to pay money to my college before I can register but they make it hard to figure out how much/where to pay.

I really liked Nagisa in this one too. I think he's a lot smarter and more aware than he seems.

@Dark -
@_@ lots of text ahead, so I decided to spoiler it:
Spoiler
I'm not saying that is ADHD, or that you have it, I just think that sounds like part of ADHD - overlapping circles on a venn diagram, or maybe just a symptom? I just thought I'd bring it up because quite a few people were chiming in with similar feelings... worth a look if you're seeing yourself there, you know? (I like Dr. Barkley's lectures and the serious tone, but some people do think he's too depressing...)

Not knowing you have ADHD can be a really horrible, demoralizing way to live, (title of this book) so I'm super sensitive about it, ahah...

You can't "over-diagnose" a mental disorder, because that implies there's only so many people who can have a disorder - you can, however, misdiagnose one. I'm sure that happens plenty too, but in a lot of ways, in many groups, it's under-addressed.

I mean, I was a (mostly) quiet, dreamy girl and I had a big problem with reading during class, so in some ways I can see how I'd slip under the radar - except for the fact that every report card I've dug up has some mention. &Actually, finding out in college, when classes get genuinely difficult, is something you see with a good number of people. Writing the disorder off by saying it's super overdiagnosed seems to be missing information and maybe relying on stereotypes...

Also, the brain activity is different and you can see it on a physical level, just like depression, bipolar, etc.

(Actual overdiagnosis refers to a correct diagnosis that is irrelevant, btw. Pedantry!)

I'll get off my soapbox now. ^^;;

@Sinni - College sites and such seem to love to making things needlessly complicated, don't they? :[
