I'm talking Fruits Basket's version where the Rat told the Cat the banquet was held on x day when it was really the day before, so the Cat missed out and didn't become part of the Zodiac. It's been ages since I read the manga, so the details are fuzzy on the 'Soma Family's Curse' and such.. Stuff that was revealed at the end..

The cat just always wanted to be included, and in the end the family finally accepted him.

you should check out the anime's remake. Actually follows the manga with some modern upgrades. (THEY HAS A HD TV! X"D)

even if it follows the manga, i wouldn't know since i never read the manga lol.

yeah in some of the original retellings, the cat wasn't even mentioned, or a whole bunch of other regular animals were in it but only the first 12 really were worth mentioning.

Let's say that the original anime left a lot of small but extremely important things out and ... well... other changes happened. The mangaka, she was so upset about it, she even argued with the director about the changes, saying she didn't want those things changed or left out.

It got to the point where she refused to allow a second season. 20 years later she finally gave in on letting the series get rebooted. With conditions of course.

New art style, new music, a more modern setting, Studio Deen and anyone who worked on the original anime were to come NO WHERE near the project. She didn't want the important things to be left out or changed.

The manga was beautiful and the ending gives me the warm and fuzzies.

I also needed tissues. QAQ I can't wait for season 3...The feels that will happen...
