I don't think the effects suggestion necessarily needs animation. A layer of rain or fog over the avatar could be interesting as a static, mostly transparent image as well. There might be less things that make sense, but definitely not none.

If you wanted the avatars to be animated, the file type of the single images the avatars are converted to would need to support animation. That might make overall file sizes bigger, I'm not an expert on image formats, so I don't really know, but it seems quite likely. The code that actually does the conversion would have to be rewritten though and I imagine it might get more complicated.

That said, I personally don't think animated avatars would be an entirely good thing. It depends a bit on how many different animated items you would release that can be equipped at the same time and how the animations actually look, but it could get annoying really fast. I'm sometimes annoyed by the animations people have in their signatures already, there definitely is a potential for that getting much worse if people start cluttering their avatars with things that move a lot as well.
I'm not trying to say that it is definitely a bad thing, but I do think it requires a bit of care and careful design of the animations.

Well, since we have a lot of sets based on regular knuffel... Can I request one based on one of these:
fire gen 6, 3, 4, 7, earth gen 4, 3, 6, water gen 3, 2, air gen 4, 1, darkness gen 7
light gen 2, 1
Most of them have these beautiful skintones that I adore (or simply the markings) and some have gorgeous hair or outfits...

or if possible only some of the skins or markings would be amazing...

We have bows, but they all are tiny
Would there be any way to make a large one that would go off the screen? All we'd see is the top but bows have a pretty distinctive shape
Also, a bow that was strapped on the back?
Maybe?

Today while trying to make an avi that resembles my reallife self I realized that we have surprisingly little braids and simple buns for hairstyles, at least in natural haircolors.

We have some very colourful bun ones, like the Carmilla Hair, Doughnight '14 hair, Frog Prince Hair and the Doughnight '11 Wig. I'd love to see something similar to those in colors like Sand Brown, Coffee, Ocher, Cyber Yellow, Orange...

I didn't find a single hairstyle that is like one big braid containing all the hair, the closest I found was the Scorpio Hair, but that's a bubblebraid (I hope that's the correct english term, in german it is called Keulenzopf, but that's not something you can find in most dictionaries :D), not really braided in the common fashion. If anyone can point me to one I overlooked, I'd be very grateful! We do have two crownbraids though, which I appreciate :)

I'd like to make the not very specific suggestion of making some more hairstyles going in the directions I described, providing some pictures of what I think could work as references:

Huh, sorry for the wall of text!

I love the suggestion of that sidebraid going very long and big over the other shoulder... But I'd love to see it combined with the tiny accentbraid... Maybe a bit like the olivia set where you have one normal and one with some added accent such as flowers? (I love my hair like that. Even if it's a pain to make and even worse to get the flowers out afterwards... )

I'd love to see a skin in ecru, though I know it would need to be part of a set or something
