That's gonna be difficult xD I'll try to translate what I got to wo...
The particle ??(spoken: o) makes an accusative-object out of a nomen..xD
f.e.
"mikeru-san ga hon o yomu" - mikeru-san reads a book (book is the nomen that's made to an accusative by ?)
sometimes there is used ga for these things, and some words need another particle.. f.e. "au" (to meet) - watashi wa tomodachi ni au; I meet a friend.
Sorry :< my english became terrible so I just cannot translate it better :<
(btw - got these things out of a book, just trying to learn these nowadays ..but got so many other things to do ^^)

The o in "O genki desu ka" is a different o though. :mcgasp:
It's the o like in osushi or ocha. You can just say "genki desu ka" as well, "O genki desu ka" is just slightly more polite.
