History can be some parts boring some interesting. I think the main trouble would be remembering years and dates. I def would’ve forgotten all that.

Which is what school textbooks mostly are
They're not gonna tell you stuff like Hitler was a sex fiend, how much gayness was in royal courts, etc

No probably not. I’d prefer that kind of history over memorizing dates lol.

When I got to homeschool my kids, I found a really cool little series called The Story of the World and my son couldn't get enough of it. It was hands-down one of the most interesting history books I've come across as a student and parent. They told things from a story perspective instead of just bland facts.

Sounds so cool! I would love to learn my history that way lol.

College ones were less sanitized, but I was only able to briefly look at one so idk how much less sanitized

Informs us of history through storytelling

I did. Is why I also did so well in those classes. I had not-school-textbook info. Like the school wanted me to run summer school the second half of world history so I could take the Regents a year early on top of going fir math cuz I passed the Regents but failed the class lost the book used for said tests and the teacher graded a lot of stuff out of that, parents said no. Wish they had. Oh well

Regents is the state's testing program so see how well we regurgitate info we don't want nor need to know like good little peons
