I've done a photography course, it was about 8 weeks? Just one day a week though but practice at home.

Then I've done retail certificate 2. And I did a online tafe course for business administration certificate 3.

I didn't like the prac bits of the online course because you had to find someone to watch you do things like ledgers, and other things and it was hard to find someone suitable. tbh I wish that bit was just you had to go to the tafe and do it there... =/

I'm considering a tafe course in IT. So word processing and other things. I know a fair bit but the tafe should be able to tell me which one is best for me. Said course looking at https://www.tafensw.edu.au/offering/ICT ... Technology

I might be able to do that in 2 and 3 though without 1.

Hmm actually I got my ICT media cert 1 in high school, though it says on my high school cert that it was partially completed =/ which doesn't make sense cause it needed to be fully completed to do the next one in year 11 and 12.

I do have my ICT multimedia cert 2 though.

To be fair, although I have my student debt, I don't struggle with money or anything. We only have to pay back the loan after we reach a certain earning threshold, and since I'm self-employed, I just stay below that threshold. This year I noticed I was doing very well, so I've started investing in
a lot of stuff to help my business so I can claim it back on my taxes and not have to pay the loan still XD Otherwise it just comes out of your wages for normal employed work, so you never really notice it.

But I've so far earned more interest on it than I have ever paid off, even though I spent nearly two years in employment where I was paying it XD A friend of mine calculated that at minimum repayment it would take 50 years. And that was before they introduced the higher fees that students have to pay now.

@River: I'm either stupid or clueless or really really ignorant when it comes to IT, because those course descriptions do nothing for me :qg:
At least the last one had something more than 2 sentences :qt:

@jacob: So that debt doesn't bother anything? Like if you wanted to take a loan or something??

I'm guessing course 1 and 2 are basics of 3.

Which pretty sure I've done..

I'd have to talk to the tafe and see what they say if I'm eligible. But as it is I may have to wait till mid year. I can't see any courses for it in my town.

Hm, well, if you're interested in it, you can always mail/call them and ask, right? Is it a stationary course?

I can walk down the road to them but the tafe campus here I guess has rotating courses and it's just in the off period where that course isn't available.

I'll ask them when I know we've got the money for it. I don't think I could get government help on it.

I don't get it :mcconf: You mean right now it's unavailable? Did I understand that right?

Sure, I'd do the same, only when I have the money.
