At some point we usually just shift it forward until we reach a sensible schedule again. We even did it already once in this semester break, but since then we messed it up again...

I have an infected tooth. My last dentist appointment, they just cleaned my teeth and ignored me when I said I needed to get the cavity fix. And what's worse was that was my last day I could go see them until July when medicaid would pay for it again. So I was in a crap load of pain to the point I couldn't sleep. And yesterday (the 13th) I go to my appointment and luckily had a dentist who'd listen and found out it was infected and I'm on antibiotics and I have to have a prescription toothpaste. And it's now 3:11 am and I can't sleep because of pain. Well it's more like pressure, but not comfortable none the less.

My dentist, whose otherwise a very sensible man, is ignoring two obviously very infected teeth. One broke too much so he tried recreating it a bit to avoid it getting worse but he refuses to take it off because he thinks I'm way too young to have so many missing teeth. I still don't understand his logic. Usually it doesn't hurt but seriously -___-
All of that to say, I have had my share of dental pain and I sympathize you with all my heart.
Seems like it gets even worse when it's hot too, I don't know why.

I wish Dr. Kiefer hadn't passed away. He was a great dentist. He took his time when injecting me with the numbing medication so I couldn't get a nerve shock.
And he listened.
Well I've been introduced to two different dentist that work at the same place and they're better then the one's before. They got me on the antibiotics. So hopefully by the time they need to do the root canal it'll be better.
@Kuuki: Can you see another dentist? I wish I could share my new ones they're nice and listen.

Doctors who actually listen are the best. Haven't never met one though XD
I'm afraid that even if I went to see someone else things would be the same, people here do things by the book so there's a high chance that's it's going to be the exact same situation everywhere.
And well, he does nothing because I say it doesn't hurt. Which is true.
It's still better than my previous one who treated my cavities without any pain medication.

Well there's your problem. It may not hurt, but it is doing damage. Infections in teeth can destroy tissue too.

I know that, sadly, he's the one who taught me that. Unfortunately right now whether he wants to do it or not he can't. My situation is such that I'm on a temporary visa with an insurance sponsored by the city whcih, while very good, has a limit on what you can spend per year. The only thing I can do is wait or spend more than the cost of my insurance for a whole year for a single tooth. So I'm waiting.
