Well, it's only common in some regions of the world where the religion is more practised... (our region is a bit lax about that in later years)
as for the december january thing... If I remember correctly it depended on which division of religion you're in.
Depending on which religion or division of religion you follow they either follow the 'december' month as being christmas, but I know that due to historical calculation errors it's possible to also see it as january... So some follow that line... (If I remember correctly, some countries also decided it would be easier to celebrate in january since december already had other festivities)


I'm not quite sure, but that's what I remember anyways...

Wow, that weather sounds lovely! It's cold and raining, here. Still quite warm compared to the average but not the best weather to do stuff outside. Then again I may be overly influenced by my mood. I've noticed, when I'm very happy it doesn't really matter what weather it is, I find something about it to enjoy and don't let it influence whether I go out or not, but with a sad or worried mood the weather feels more inimicable than it really is.

(Why does spellcheck not like "inimicable"? It's just as valid as "inimical" but more apropos for that sentence structure. It is *SO* spelled correctly, I went and checked with a REAL dictionary! Leave me alone, spellcheck!)

I hate cold and raining... But I LOVE snow... I'm hoping it'll snow here, but I doubt it...

Eva: nope... Europe, central... not that much eyecandy... and what is there isn't usually available to either ladies or available in general (or they're the characters you don't want to touch with a ten foot pole)
I'd love to see more lovelies here... Sadly most of them decided about a decade ago that being general and the same is the norm... I prefer nice and unique over fashionslaves...
