I know I said I was tired of heat warnings, didn't think I'd get a tsunami warning instead.

(I'll be fine, I'm not that close from the sea and, while the warning is expected to last for a while, it looks like it'll say small and everyone concerned has evacuated)

I heard that HK has been raining alot bc of a typhoon somewhere else. and apparently they just had a categorized “black rainstorm”. (HK uses colors to categorize their storms.)

Oh yeah, there were THREE typhoons around at the same time. Now there's only two. One is around Shanghai and one is still in the sea and should come right onto me this weekend.

Doesn't make the heat warning go away though.

Color categorization? Is there a chart or link on that anywhere?

I didn’t know how many, I just saw something about “black rainstorm” and that’s it.

I’m sure it’s online if you searched it Hart lol. All I remember was Amber and Black. Amber is the “lowest” color, Black is the highest I think.

Three at the same time is pretty rare.
They also started pretty late.

In Japan they don't have any scale for typhoons in general, they probably should but we do get color graded warnings depending on what kind of disaster that typhoon may bring so it's also regional. Mostly it's rain or wind but we also have high waves, floods and landslides (though those come after the rain warnings usually)
It's pretty easy to use in daily life actually I like it.

Also, typhoons only get numbers, no names.

Well isn’t this around the time for monsoon/typhoon season? Or am I getting that wrong? I think it’s around the summer months although I could be wrong.

Monsoon depends on where, typhoons is usually during the summer months. But sometimes the first one comes in April, they're usually not that strong in April but the later it is the more powerful they become.

The one coming over me this week end looks like bad news though, I can already feel the wind.
