So why associate Easter only with rabbits?
Disassociate those two things!

You could do an egg-painting thing for an Easter instead...
hold a paint-brush (or do the thing where you hold the paintbrush in your mouth), color-splattered shirt/apron/background, basket of unpainted eggs...

Or go for chickens, which LAY the eggs. Not baby chicks, but grown chickens.

You could also do an egg-hunt thing, with a hand-held magnifying glass (because searching for the eggs) and a background of tall grass/spring flowers with some eggs hiding in it.

You could do "Easter hats/dresses" (fancy and frilly and pastel colors) and a spring-basket.

You could do an Easter where it's almost all knuffel-room items instead of avatars (and then you could reuse some of your old art, make it easy on yourself!).

(I would like to say, those shirts that are like off-shoulder t-shirts with a support strap and with the bunny on them.... I'd LOVE to see that style of a bunny show up as a pet/animal item... especially if it were in the back left background, where it could be hiding from the avatar. )

You understand, I've never actually celebrated Easter, so this is only based off of what I see around that time of year.

But anyhow; chocolate seems to be a big thing too for Easter. You could even do one year with a big chocolate rabbit, and then the same rabbit with more and more bites taken out of it, and then one last item of a chocolate-smeared mouth.

I think Easter is a little more limited with themes than Christmas for example XD Even though Easter is more important in church, but whatever

Anyways, first thing to come to mind when thinking about Easter is:
bunnies, chickens (mainly baby chicks), eggs and painting them, buxus (at least in Poland we decorate our baskets with it, because it's evergreen)... lamb...
And flowers like tulips, crocuses, snowdrops, jonquils... Because Easter is about coming back to life... Gosh, this is hard QnQ *admires Firn* I'd quit a long time ago if I were you

They have done egg themes for easter. Easter '12 and Easter '13 had egg themes ^^

Yeah, but that's just two out of so many easter events with bunny themes! And there's so many colors you can put on eggs! Magenta, Teal, Bright Purple... basically any color XD

Mem, catkins are the part of the plant that forms that biological function; like saying 'petal' or 'stamen' kind of. The specific type of catkin you linked to is a "pussy willow" in English.
