I wonder how much I'd like
I don't really have a sense of smell/taste, so a lot of what I like relies more on textures
Turns out fungi are a nope in that department

Hotpot is nice though
Last weekend my friend n I went to a Korean bbq+hotpot place
We did both, and agreed that next time stick to the hotpot, and using miso as the base is good
I need to remember to not get so damn much lol
I ended up barely making a dent in my hotpot because I'm still used toe sting a metric fuckton of food when going out and I can't do that anymore cuz I've swapped from big meals to grazing
Tasty as fuck though. Except the fungi

I like eating hotpot but it’s alot of work to make. We usually do it at home and we don’t use those over spiced broths that they have in restaurants. All we use is water, ginger and daikon radish. Then we let it all boil and that’s the “broth” we use to make our food.

Hotpot is so very much a group thing
The place we went to was a shared grill and individual soups, but it was a Korean place so I imagine they have different rules
We were also idiots and didn't see the silverware tubs right next to us until we were ready to pay the bill. Just used the provided tongs, scissors, and chopsticks ahahahahaha

It is very much a group thing. Which is why we haven’t had hotpot for awhile. When my sister was still living in Canada, we had it more often. But now that she lives in HK, with 3 ppl, hotpot is too much to finish with just 3.

So the place we went to simply did it differently, with smaller pots. Curious

Yeah I think some places do it like small pots for individual people? While we make a big pot in the Center and than squabble over food lol. XD

Probably health code reasons or something. Though the grill is shared so idk how well that guess holds up
Of course, individual hotpots can have separate broths too so that could be it
