well yeah but there's also like yinyang pots where you can have two types of broth i think. still, i prefer to use just clear water with ginger and daikon, none of those weird overspiced broths. you know, you can actually BUY the spices/broth mixes in the supermarkets.

We barely have ramen here
Now, Mexican, on the other hand, we have plenty. We're nowhere near close to Mexico

ROFLMAOO that’s hilarious.
It’s like a Korean style ramen? So the noodles are much thicker than Japanese ramen noodles.
I’d like to have Mexican food. XD

Yeah i wanted to make onigiri once
The bonito flakes, nori, and short-grained rice were the hardest parts to find
The rice was the worst of the three, iirc I ended up with sushi rice
And then the bonito instructions were weird. "Cook until all flakes are floating"
An hour later still not floating. We gave up and used tunafish

I live next to a cow farm. If it's not a big box chain it's a pizza joint. If you really want something ethnic you need to drive, at minimum, for an hour, and even then it's gonna be primarily chain locations like panda express

Ah I see. My city has lots of culture and I think it’s actually in the top 10 of most populous cities in all of Canada. There’s lots of ethnic culture so we’ve got like Chinese supermarkets but also specifically Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese (or was it Filipino?), middle eastern, Italian, Peruvian…yeah some are just small stores but some are huge international cuisine stores. So. Yeah. Lots of variety.
