oh firn (or anyone else), say if i wanted to do a zombie like knuffel, what are the limits on the artwork, since a zombie is... well a zombie, usually meaning slight gore and maybe blood. Like what would be going too far and what is still considered "safe" for younger viewers?

I cannot answer you that, everyone has different tolerance levels.
My personal tolerance level for gore for example is extremely low, but these are MY feelings towards this matter and no means to establish on which level something like this should be accepted.
I just have to say that, should users complain, I would most likely be way more willing to remove something from this site because it's gore, than, for example because someone thinks it is sexual and offensive.
That's all based on my personal feelings towards these matters though.

So. I thought a sketchy one would be kind of nice.
Now I put her on a white sort-of-cut background which has been cleanly cut and everything. So, there's a clear difference between the transparent background and her 'paper', which would be sort of her base, and everything is filled. She's just not colored.
Wait, I'll throw her first stage in to show what I mean.

Sorry, yeah, I meant doesn't, not does. Looks like my brain hasn't started functioning yet today.
Yeah, I agree, the idea is nice, but if I allow your Knuffel I lose my ground of argumentation when people start to submit hasty pencil scribbles.

Firn, I'm curious how soon is "very soon" for releasing the wild Knuffel? I wasn't thinking when I adopted the for I have so far, but I want to use my mule for my wild Knuffel so I'd like to get rid of the ones on my main.

I am afraid I cannot answer that question, because that is starkad's working field. Could happen today or could take him weeks as far as I know. :(
